Information and policies for 2008-2009:

Fall classes at Let's Dance begin after Labor Day. We offer a wide range of classes from the beginner to the advanced. Classes are 50, 60, 75, & 90 minutes long. Let's Dance offers combination, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Tap and Modern Classes. Classes meet once a week. Children should enter and exit through the back door, and be dressed and ready to dance. Children's names should be clearly written on their shoes and all clothing. This prevents confusion when it's time to change shoes or when it's time to leave at the end of class. We cannot be responsible for lost items. No food, drink, candy, or chewing gum in the building, please.

Parents will have the opportunity to watch their children dance since our classrooms have one-way glass observation windows.

Parents are invited to our holiday classroom celebrations in December. T-shirts to this event are $12.00. It is very important that your child be brought on time and picked up on time so that we can keep classes flowing smoothly.

Recitals
Our end-of-the-year performance is the spring recital in May. Let's Dance will provide a costume for each student to wear in the spring recital. Students may keep this costume. There is a $40.00 recital fee per family (includes all children) to participate in this event. No tickets are needed to attend this performance. Our recital schedule is tentatively planned for May 22, 2010 and the dress rehearsal is scheduled for the Saturday, May 15th. Let's Dance will post the exact dates of the May recital after spring break. Every child will receive a trophy at the end-of-the-year awards/class party.

Classes & fees:

The registration fee for one child is $ 25.00 and $5.00 for each additional child.

Ages 3 & 4 year olds: A combination of ballet, tap, and creative movement. 50 minutes - $55.00 a month.
Kindergarteners: A combination of ballet, tap, and jazz. 50 minutes - $55.00 a month.
Kindergarteners - 2nd grade: Ballet Prep I. 50 minutes - $55.00 a month.
1st-3rd grade: BalletPrep II. 60 minutes - $55.00 a month.
1st-3rd grade: A combination of ballet, tap, and jazz. 75 minutes - $70.00 a month.
1st-3rd grade: Hip-hop I, II. 60 minutes - $60.00 a month.
1st-3rd grade: Jazz or Tap. 50 minutes - $55.00 a month.
4th grade and up: Tap I, II, or III. 60 minutes - $60.00 a month.
4th grade and up: Jazz I, II, III, IV, Modern I, II, III, Hip-hop I, II, III, IV. 75 minutes - $70.00 a month.
4th grade and up: Ballet I, II, or III. 90 minutes - $80.00 a month.
4th grade and up: Pointe I or II. 30 minutes - $35.00 a month.

Additional classes/children:

All additional classes/child - $40.00 a month.
Monthly tuition for 1 student with unlimited classes a week = $ 235.00
Monthly tuition for 2 students with unlimited classes a week = $ 335.00

Discount for full or half year payments:
 These prices include the registration and recital fees

1 - 50 min. class = $535.25 or Sept. 1/2 year payment = $ 300.12 and Jan. 1/2 payment = $235.13
1 - 60 min. class = $578.00 or Sept. 1/2 payment = $321.50 and Jan. 1/2 payment = $256.50
1 - 75 min. class = $663.50 or Sept. 1/2 payment = $364.25 and Jan. 1/2 payment = $299.25
1 - 90 min. class = $749.00 or Sept. 1/2 payment = $ 407.00 and Jan. 1/2 payment = $342.00
1 - 50 min. daycare class = $560.90 or Sept. 1/2 payment = $312.95 and Jan. 1/2 payment = $247.95



This cost will vary for students transported by daycare centers or children who take dance class at the daycare centers. Add $3.00 per student per month for this service. Payments are due by the 1st of each month. A $10.00 a week late fee will be automatically added to any accounts processed after the 10th. A 5% discount is available for those who wish to pay their tuition in full year or half year increments. Let's Dance can also automatically charge your tuition payment to you Visa, Mastercard, or Debit card each month. Please contact us for more information. Payment can be dropped off or mailed directly to Let's Dance. Any payment postmarked after the 10th will be considered late. Envelopes are available at the studio or at their daycare (any envelope will do) for the following month's payment. Please make checks or money orders payable to Let's Dance (do not send cash). Do not put checks in children's dance bags or leave any payments at the daycare center. We do not go through their bags and they may get misplaced or lost. There is a $30.00 fee for returned checks. A two-week notice must be received to drop a class in order to discontinue billing.

Company auditions:

Let's Dance has 9 dance companies that attend dance conventions and competitions on the regional as well as the national level. Auditions for the dance company will be held April 19th 2009. There is a $12.00 fee to audition for each. This is an excellent learning experience for students, whether or not they are accepted. Any student accepted into the dance company will be required to sign a contract pertaining to our rules and expectations. The company meeting is on April 19th.

Bad weather:

Let's Dance will be closed if the Greenville County Public School System is closed, because of the weather and all major holidays. If there is bad weather in the evening hours we follow Greenville Tech.'s closing policy. We do not close for teacher's workdays, presidential birthdays, etc. Your monthly tuition will remain the same. We will be happy to schedule a make up class for your child. There will be no extra charge for months with five weeks.

Recommended dress for class:
Let's Dance carries high quality discounted dancewear and dance shoes. Starter kits are also available.

Students in a combination class: a black short sleeve leotard, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet shoes with an elastic strap (the draw strings should be knotted and tucked in), and low heeled black tap shoes with tap shoe ties. Students ages 8 and up should get the lace up black tap shoes and split sole pink ballet shoes.

Students in a jazz or  hip-hop class: a short sleeve black leotard, flat (not shiny) tan tights. Tan jazz shoes with split soles (low elastic boots) for jazz students and black jazz sneaker for hip-hop students.

Students in a tap class: a short sleeve black leotard, flat (not shiny) tan tights, and black split sole tap shoes.

Students in a ballet class: a short sleeve black leotard, theatrical pink tights, and pink split soledballet shoes. Students must wear their hair up and away from their face. Students in a ballet class must wear a bun.

Students in a pointe class: a short sleeve black leotard, theatrical pink tights, and pink pionte shoes with elastic and wide satin ribbons. Students should have a teacher check your pointe shoes before sewing anything on them.

Students in a modern class:a short sleeve black leotard, tan convertible tights (not shiny), and foot undies.

Students must wear their hair up and away from their face.

Let's Dance liability waiver:

I, as the parent and legal guardian of my child(ren) who is/are a student(s) at Let's Dance, consent to her/his participation in dance classes , dance functions, and dance recitals, and do hereby release, forever discharge and hold harmless Syncopated Steps, Inc., d/b/a Let's Dance, its agents, officers, servants and employees, from any injuries, losses or damages which may be sustained by my child(ren).
